What to expect in therapy:
“Therapy is not about becoming someone else; it’s about becoming the best version of yourself.”
If you’ve never been to therapy before, it’s completely normal to feel unsure of what to expect. Starting therapy is a brave and important step toward caring for yourself, and it can make a real difference in how you navigate life’s challenges. Therapy provides a space that is just for you—where your thoughts, feelings, and experiences can be explored without judgment. It’s a place to slow down, reflect, and begin to notice patterns and possibilities for change.
In our work together, sessions often begin with a brief check-in to see how you’re doing that day. From there, we might talk about what feels most important to explore in the moment, or we’ll continue working on something we’ve already started together. Then we dive in—whether that means processing emotions, developing new skills, or finding practical ways to manage stress and challenges.
I want you to feel comfortable here. You’re welcome to take your shoes off, grab a fidget toy, or even hang out with Harriet, the therapy room’s anxiety hippo. Whether we’re meeting virtually or in person, this is your space to show up fully as you are.
Therapy can be life-changing because it offers both support and growth: a safe place to be seen and understood, and also a place where you can be gently challenged to discover new ways of moving through the world. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting. Together, we’ll take it one step at a time.

Individual Therapy Fees:
Insurance & Superbills
I do not accept insurance and am considered an out-of-network provider with all insurance carriers. If you would like to use your benefits, I can provide you with a superbill (a receipt for services) that you can submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please check with your provider in advance to understand your out-of-network benefits. If you choose to submit a superbill, I am required to provide a diagnosis as part of that process.
Phone Consultation
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and help you get a sense of what it might feel like to work together. If it seems like a good fit, we’ll go ahead and schedule your first appointment.
Office-Based Therapy
In-person sessions take place in my office and are 60 minutes in length at a rate of $150 per session. Most clients choose to meet weekly or every other week, depending on their needs.
Teletherapy
Virtual sessions are available through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. These are a great option if you’re unable to make it to the office due to illness, childcare, transportation challenges, or travel. 60-minute teletherapy sessions are $150.
Reduced Fee Options
I believe therapy should be accessible. If finances are a concern, I offer a limited number of reduced-fee sessions on a sliding scale between $10 and $100 per session. Reduced-fee arrangements are determined together before beginning therapy and are typically set for a specific period of time.
Cancellation Policy
Life happens, and schedules change—I completely understand. I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice (including weekends) if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Each client is allowed one late cancellation or no-show per calendar year without charge. After this allowance has been used, a $125 fee will apply to any late cancellations or missed appointments, regardless of insurance coverage.
